Durango High School welcomed students back on Monday with a warm message following Spring Break, reminding everyone that it’s a great day to be a Demon.
Students have upcoming opportunities to explore college and career paths. An Admissions Representative from San Juan College will be visiting the Counseling Office on Tuesday, March 24, from 1:00–1:45 p.m. Students can stop by to ask questions and learn more about programs and admissions. Those interested in military careers can also meet with a U.S. Air Force representative on Wednesday, March 25, from 11:00–11:45 a.m. in the Counseling Office.
Leadership opportunities continue to be available through Student Council appointed positions, with applications located outside the front office. These positions allow students to get involved and make an impact within the school community. Applications must be submitted to Olivia Cuellar or Michelle Flom in Room W2118 by March 27 at 4 p.m.
In club news, several groups are meeting today during lunch. Focus meets every Monday in Ms. Woods’ room, while Knowledge Bowl meets in Mrs. Skarbek’s room 2025 for trivia practice. Students interested in creative writing and community projects can join Tiny Tale Tellers in Ms. Hayden’s room W2123, where they help write children’s books.
Students are encouraged to stay involved, get connected, and start the week strong after Spring Break.
