Durango High School wraps up the week with important reminders about prom, upcoming deadlines, and student activities.
Students planning to attend prom are reminded that out-of-school guest forms are due today in the front office—no exceptions. Looking ahead, prom tickets for seniors will be available starting Monday, April 6, on Minga or at the student store during lunch and after school. Juniors will be able to purchase tickets beginning April 13, while guest ticket sales will open on April 20.
Students interested in athletics and fitness should note that DHS Girls Wrestling is hosting offseason strength and conditioning on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00–5:00 p.m. in the weight room, open to all DHS female students.
For those looking for summer opportunities, the CAUSE Internship offers $22 per hour, hands-on experience with local nonprofits in digital marketing, and the chance to earn .5 elective credit. Applications are due April 5, and more information is available in the Counseling Office.
Attention juniors: CMAS Science testing will take place on Tuesday, April 7 at 8:25 a.m. Be sure to bring a fully charged Chromebook and check posted rosters in the ELA hallway or commons for your assigned room. Additionally, rising juniors and seniors eligible for National Honor Society should check their email for application details, with applications also due April 7.
In club news, Knowledge Bowl meets today during lunch in Mrs. Skarbek’s room 2025. NHS members should prepare for a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, April 7 at the beginning of lunch in the library. Chess players can head to Mr. Kopack’s room 2010 during lunch for a friendly match, and the DHS Fishing Club meets today in Mr. Coddington’s office (W1237).
