On January 30th, 2026, many Durango High School students initiated a walk-out at 2:00 PM to join in the nationwide protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), where the students walked all the way towards Buckley Park, and some walked towards the La Plata County Fairgrounds.
