This week, The El Diablo Nominates Jude Alderton as our athlete of the week. He is a junior on our DHS varsity basketball team. Jude is happy to be recognized and see his hard work pay off. His favorite moment this season has been the first home game. He gets ready for games by doing a chant with his team to get them energized. Jude always brings energy to warmups to get his team and himself ready to play. Playing sports throughout the years has taught him to work together with his team. He has made many friendships in sports that continue even when the season is done. “Having those people to trust and lean on outside of sports, you can go to them.”

Jude shows leadership on the court by always being the first one out there. He always makes sure to encourage and pick people up when they need it. He shows leadership off the court by always being there for his team, whether that’s helping with grades or just being a good example. His advice for upcoming athletes is to “Give it everything you got, take the opportunity when it’s there.”
His biggest inspiration as an athlete is Aaron Gordon, a player for the Denver Nuggets.
Jude balances school while traveling by communicating clearly with his teachers and getting his homework done on the road. Before a big game, his go-to hype song is We Made it by Busta Rhymes ft. Linkin Park. Congratulations Jude! Good luck with the rest of your season!
