Demon Discussions | DHS Rocks, Spring Sports & Student Elections
Millie and Marley are back with a packed episode featuring one of the biggest events of the year at Durango High School: DHS Rocks.
DHS Rocks — March 13
DHS Rocks is our all-day talent show happening the day before Spring Break, but it’s more than just performances. The event supports DHS Cares, with all money raised going directly to a family in need within our own school community.
Here’s how it works:
• Each class period must raise $30 total — not per person.
• If every student donates just $1 or $2, your class reaches the goal.
• Teachers must raise $30 per class period they teach.
• If all your classes hit the goal, you attend the talent show all day — no regular class periods.
If you want to perform, fill out the form sent to your email by Friday, March 6. Solo acts and group performances are welcome.
Community Highlights
The Soul Food Dinner last Thursday was an incredible night of food, culture, and connection. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the event.
Spring Sports Are Underway
• Soccer tryouts wrapped up — good luck this season.
• Baseball season has officially begun.
• Track and Girls Tennis are now in full swing.
Make sure to get out and support your fellow Demons.
Theater Update
“The Laramie Project” is still running, with the final performance on March 7. Troupe 1096 has put in tremendous work — be sure to get your tickets. Up next on the DHS stage: “Ride the Cyclone.”
Student Council Elections
Elections are happening now. Vote during advisory for your class president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and historian. Your voice plays an important role in shaping DHS.
As always:
We care for each other.
We are honest with each other.
We take pride in each other.
We support each other.
It’s the Demon Way.
Have a great day, DHS.
