With only 3 months of school left, some seniors are starting to think more deeply about where they want to go after high school and some have known where they want to go before they even started high school, and these seniors have decided or are thinking about pursuing veterinary science.
Seniors like Elizabeth Wancura have held onto their dream job since they were young and are finally ready to take the next step in pursuing their careers. Wancura is planning on going to Kansas State University because, “They have a small school with a great animal science program for me to further my love and knowledge of animal science.” Wancura talks about how she has always wanted to be a veterinarian when she was young.
Wancura also talks about her worries about being so far from home. “I’m nervous about leaving and being 13 hours away from the place I have grown up in and the people I have grown up with for the past 18 years.” Even though she has these worries she says that she is more excited to start pursuing her love for animals.
Wancura has decided to pursue her love for animals in the future and this shows just one path that other seniors are also interested in such as Mylee Smith who also shared a passion for animals “I realized early that whatever I did as a career, I wanted to surround myself with pets and the rewarding outcome of simply helping those in need” Smith in just another example of someone who is pursuing something that she loves and even if a person does not have something they want to pursue now there will always be opportunities to find your passion.
