  • October 22It's a great day to be a Demon! Today is Wednesday, October 22nd… Shoutout: -A HUGE Congratulations to the DHS Mountain Bike Team who won the Division 2, Colorado State Mountain Biking Championship in Glenwood Springs last weekend! This is the 2nd consecutive state championship title the team has won. A special shout out to each of the 6 Seniors who finished their racing career for the Demons. Here’s what’s happening: -The band needs your support! After earning the highest score in DHS History, the Red Pride Band is putting on one final show before we head off to the State Marching Band Championship! Come show some love to the band and the Durango Demon Poms team in our annual fall Spirit Showcase! Tonight, at 5:45 in the stadium. Hot beverages and snacks will be available for purchase! -A community blood drive will be held on October 30. To donate, scan the QR code on posters around school. Donors must be at least 16. Those under 18 need a signed parent permission slip, available outside Room 2060. -Spring athletes who are not in a strength class, come join our Winter After-School Strength Program and get ready for your upcoming season! An informational meeting will be held this Friday at lunch in the weight room! Club and Activity News: -There is a Girls Wrestling parents meeting TODAY at 5:30 in the Impact Center. The season starts November 17th. -Knowledge Bowl meets in Mrs. Skarbek’s room 2025 TODAY during enrichment. Demon of the Day: -Today's Demon of the Day is HENRY GUSTINE. HE was nominated for demonstrating PRIDEFUL actions by MS PARR who let us know, “Henry has been showing up to class as a courageous leader recently by reminding peers of classroom expectations, answering questions that have already been answered by me, and being thoughtful about leaving no trace by picking up trash & any equipment or supplies left behind by others. Thank you for being so helpful and awesome, Henry!” Congratulations and thanks for exemplifying the Demon Way.
