Homecoming occurred at DHS October 13-17, 2025. Demons revved up their engines for an incredible, but busy week! Jam-packed with events, there was something for everyone, and DHS got out, had fun, and brought the Demon spirit all week long!
Monday, October 13 was the annual Homecoming parade on Main Avenue, and the spirit day was PJ Day.

Tuesday, October 14 was Twin Day. At lunch, there was a three-legged race on the track, with the winners receiving free homecoming tickets. That evening, there was a Cars movie night in the Main Gym from 6 to 8:30 pm. Concessions were sold by various DHS clubs as a fundraiser.
On Wednesday, October 15, students toted coolers, pots, suitcases, and even a few traffic cones for Anything but a Backpack Day. At lunch, a pop quiz was hosted by the DHS Knowledge Bowl Team. In the evening, Machoman volleyball took place in the Main Gym.
Senior Hadyn Neiman helped to coordinate the Machoman Volleyball game, where boys play volleyball. This year, Neiman said, there are around 60 players across six teams, with one freshman team, one sophomore team, one junior team, two senior teams, and one teacher team.
For the planning, she said, they’ve had to order t-shirts for the players, and “make sure we have brackets and rosters full.”
On Thursday, October 16, DHS’s classes battled it out by wearing their class colors. During third period, there was the monthly pep rally, with an orchestra performance, the revealing of the yearbook theme, and dances performed by each homecoming royalty nominee pair. During lunch, a sunglass decorating activity was held in the Commons. In the evening, Powderpuff football took place in the stadium.

On Friday, October 17, Fast and Furious Friday, students decked out in their race attire: Sunglasses, bandanas, leather jackets, and racing jackets were seen around school. That evening, the annual tailgate was hosted before the homecoming football game. Clubs sold a variety of goods as a fundraiser.
Senior Ian Hastey helped to organize the tailgate. He said that fourteen clubs signed up for the tailgate this year, and sold everything from chili, ice cream, baked goods, and also had activities such as face painting.
Hastey said that he, as well as other Student Council members, have had to “reach out to all clubs of DHS to give them an opportunity to fundraise. We advertise this event to the community and work together to make a fun and inclusive event.”
After the tailgate was the homecoming football game. DHS took on Air Academy and won 41-0.
Finally, on Saturday, was the Homecoming dance from 7-10.
DHS’ Student Council were the main organizers of all the events that occurred throughout the week.
In addition, the Student Council introduced the Pit Stop Points Quiz. Students who attended various events throughout the week could get scanned by StuCo members to earn points for themselves and their class.
Anyone who received over 100 points got entered into a raffle for a free DHS hoodie and the class with the most points received a donut party in advisory. The freshman won the most class points.
The week was full of balloons, checkered flags, and memories from the many events that occurred. Happy Homecoming DHS!
