This week, the people nominated Miles Snow for the athlete of the week. Miles is a senior and top varsity cross country runner. He missed last year’s cross-country season and is happy to be back and noticed for his hard work. So far, his favorite moment of the season has been the first and second meet, where both boys and girls placed well.
Miles prepares for a big day by eating lots of honey and peanut butter the morning of a race. His go-to hype music is anything by Bad Bunny.
Mile’s advice to a young athlete is to focus on an important diet that works for you and is compatible with your sport. Miles shows leadership by holding others up during the race and sticking together as a team. He balances school, sports, and life by prioritizing what means the most to him (running), and having fun with friends, and being tough. Cross country has taught him to never stop running and it’s better to slow down than walk. Mile’s biggest inspiration is Durango’s own Dr. Baker, who ran long distance also. Congratulations Miles! Keep up the good work!
