With the next NBA season featuring young teams on the rise and older teams who have lots of playoff experience, there are many different teams with a high chance of winning the championship. When asked who would win the next NBA championship, Justin Smith, a 10th grader at DHS said,  “The Denver Nuggets, maybe Lakers. Like many people in the Colorado area, Smith likes the Denver Nuggets because they are Colorado’s basketball team who won the championship a couple of years ago. 

DHS student Alexander Nij believes another team will take the championship. Nij believes the reigning champions will be victorious again because when asked who will win, Nij said,“the Celtics.”

Similar to Smith, another DHS student Kamron Rodriguez believes the Denver Nuggets will be champions again. When asked who would win the championship Rodriguez said, “The Nuggets”, which is a pretty typical answer for a Coloradan.  

The last 10th grader interviewed was Trey Goupel who was not very different from Smith and Rodrigez. Despite not knowing much about basketball, Goupel still believes the state team will  go all the way, which is evidenced in his answer  “The Denver Nuggets” when asked who will win the championship this year

So, in the end, it appears that DHS still believes in the Denver Nuggets, but also recognizes that the Celtics will bring some stiff competition after winning the championship last year.
