You’ve probably seen them, or heard them, in the halls; jamming out and making the school feel just a little bit brighter. Sophomore Dutch Revells and Jr. Aaron Hawkins (junior) are two students who play their music out loud as they walk to class.

“Sometimes highschool gets a little boring and slow and there’s nothing like some good ole music to cheer you up,” said So. Dylan Baken, a student who appreciates the music.

Many other students also get in on the action and dance through the halls when the music goes by. Even teachers enjoy it.

English teacher Kristen Barth said, “I love (the music Aaron plays). We sang along to Nelly together just the other day.”

In an interview with Jr. Aaron Hawkins, El Diablo gets into the mind of DHS in-house DJ.

Reporter: Why do you play music in the halls?

Jr. Aaron Hawkins: I play music because it makes me want to be here, and it makes everyone smile. I feel like it really brings the school alive; it enables other students to play music and exchange it if they want to.
