Held at the Fort Lewis College Ballroom, this year’s Great Gatsby themed prom was one for the books.  Dresses were as extravagant as the ladies and the tuxedos were as handsome as the gents.  From over draped pearls, and faux fur to flapper skirts and canes, this year’s prom involvement to fashion was impressive.

I’m so glad gatsby was the theme for this year,” said Sr. Hailey Warren in an elegant, ankle-length white beaded gown.

The Roaring 20’s were known for the luxurious fashion and over the top dance parties.  Prom wasn’t identical but it was a 2015 version of the decade.

I had to go all out,” said Sr. Trevor White in his white tux matched with a perfect replica of a 1920’s styled tan faux fur jacket.

Prom wouldn’t be as fun without the theme! Especially when you have the chance to dress up as a gatsby girl,” said Jr. McKenna Crabb.

This year’s juniors and seniors really enjoyed the gatsby idea for prom.  The recent remake of The Great Gatsby movie by Baz Luhrmann is incredibly influential on heightened interests of the era.
The gatsby theme was superb. Since it was such a specific time period, it made the dressing up easier and a lot more enjoyable,” said Sr. Prom Queen Rebekah Hwang.

The turnout for this year’s prom turned out very well thanks to student council and the participation of all high school upperclassmen who attended Prom 2015.
